Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra presents Tchaikovsky’s Fifth

The Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra, a college-community orchestra housed at Michigan Tech, makes a stop at historic Crystal Theatre during their concert tour of Michigan and Wisconsin. Comprised of Michigan Tech students and faculty, and community musicians from the Keweenaw and Marquette, the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra is the oldest orchestra in the Upper Peninsula. Their performance will include Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Festival Overture and Tchaikovsky's triumphant Fifth Symphony. In the early 1930s, the now legendary Bob Wills created what he called a “Texas fiddle band.” It featured him and others on fiddles in addition to just about any other instrument.
