Beethoven and Banjos – CANCELLED See statement below
August 30 @ 12:00 am - 12:30 am
UPDATE: The Board of Directors of Northwoods Music Collaborative has decided to cancel our live concerts for Beethoven and Banjos Music Festival 2020. Consideration of the health and comfort of our audience members, staff, volunteers and musicians has strongly influenced this decision. The health concern associated with large gatherings of people, at this time of the Coronavirus pandemic, compels us to pause our plans for an in-person festival.
That said, we look forward to 2021 when we can bring our wonderful musicians to all of you in some of the most beautiful venues in the Upper Peninsula and celebrate together, again, at the unique Beethoven and Banjos concerts. Until then, we envision producing a virtual experience this summer/fall that will whet your appetites for the Beethoven and Banjos music. We will keep you informed of how to participate. Be well, dear friends.
The UP’s 6th annual cross-genre music festival, Beethoven and Banjos, is a collaboration between members of Decoda (Carnegie Hall’s affiliate ensemble) and a folk ensemble.
2020 marks the sixth annual week-long collaboration creating and performing music together in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. “This year we are featuring the lush and virtuosic music of Russia, and featuring a UP student assisted composition,” says Artistic Director and UP native Evan Premo (pictured).
